
Peter Sharp
Peter Sharp is a Senior Correspondent for Sky News. Based in London, he covers stories at home and abroad.
Formerly Sky's Asia Correspondent based in Beijing, Peter covered a breadth of news stories from across the continent.
Joining Sky News as a Foreign Correspondent in 1993, Peter has reported from 57 countries around the world. He has won a number of awards including Best News Reporter in 1995 for his Sarajevo coverage and Best Correspondent in 1998 at the New York Film and Television Awards. In 1999 Peter also won a Gold Medal for an hour long documentary on Auschwitz.
Peter has also filed numerous reports from the Middle East and secured a rare interview with Taliban fighters on the Pakistan border. He led Sky News’ coverage of the 2002 Gulf War from Kurdistan in Northern Iraq and has also reported frequently from Afghanistan and Iraq. His coverage of the Tsunami in 2005 was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award.
