
Mark Longhurst
Mark presents Sky News’ breakfast news strand Sunrise at weekends from 0600 – 1000. He also presents Sunrise on Fridays from 0600 to 0900.
Mark has more than 30 years experience as a journalist in newspapers, radio and television and is one of Sky News' longest serving presenters. While at Sky News he has been on air for many of the biggest breaking news stories of recent times, including the fall of Baghdad, the arrest and execution of Saddam Hussein and the July London bombings.
In his long career he has also worked for the BBC, ITN, TVam, LWT and Thames Television and has been twice nominated for Royal Television Society awards. While co-anchor of BBC South he was voted News Broadcaster of the year in the BT regional press awards. While at TVam he covered the first Gulf War as defence correspondent and also spent much of his time in Berlin and Moscow reporting on the fall of Communism across Europe. He also presented the breakfast station's News Hour and was a regular newsreader for Breakfast with Frost.
After TV-am, Mark covered the 1992 General Election for ITN’s Channel Four Daily before becoming presenter at BBC World. He also presented a live consumer programme for ITV and joined Sky as the station's Business Correspondent in 1997.
He lives in Sussex with his wife and three children as an exciled Welshman.
