Jon Desborough

Jon presents Sportsline, Sky News’ in-depth weeknight sports reportage from 2230 – 2300.

Jon has worked for Sky News for ten years, reporting on major sporting events from across the globe.  In 2001, he was short listed for the prestigious RTS Sports Reporter of the Year Award for an interview with Ellen MacArthur.

In 2002, during a two year stint at Channel Four, he was shortlisted for RTS Sports Presenter of the Year for his coverage of the World Rally Championship.

Jon is willing to go wherever the story takes him.  Whilst covering the 2000 – 2001 BT Global Challenge round-the-world yacht race, Jon joined a crew of 18 volunteers and sailed the Tasman Sea from Wellington to Sydney.  Jon Broadcast live on deck each night, using special satellite equipment.

Jon fronted the sports output on Sky News throughout the 90s, interviewing the great personalities of that decade, including Frank Bruno, Paul Gascoigne, Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill.

Jon lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and family.  He is a passionate supporter of Luton Town.
