
Charlotte Hawkins
Charlotte Hawkins joined Sky News Sunrise with Eamonn Holmes from ITV Meridian in January 2007. Sunrise is broadcast from 0600 - 0900.
During her time at Sky Charlotte has been on-air for several major breaking stories; including the developing situation in Gaza as Israeli air strikes took place, and the guilty verdict in the Josef Fritzl trial. Charlotte has also interviewed several film stars for Sky News including Will Smith, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp, Daniel Craig, Russell Crowe, Cameron Diaz and Renee Zellweger.
After graduating from Manchester University with a degree in English Literature, she went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism from the London College of Printing. Charlotte's broadcasting career began in 1999 as a newsreader and reporter for ITN Radio. She was one of the first journalists at the Paddington rail crash and reported live from the scene. In January 2000, Charlotte moved to Meridian Television. She was a reporter before co-anchoring Meridian's main news programme Meridian Tonight for four years. Among the stories she covered was the country's biggest cash robbery in 2006, when she presented the programme live from Tonbridge. She also co-presented the hour-long current affairs discussion series The Big Story, and covered breaking news as a presenter on the ITV News Channel.
Outside news Charlotte has presented both The London Boat Show and The Southampton Boat Show programmes for ITV1. She is currently filming a series on classic cars. Away from the camera Charlotte spends her time horse-riding, cycling, and going for walks with rescue dog Bailey.
