
Isobel Lang
Isobel Lang joined Sky News after 12 years at the BBC Weather Centre where she broadcast the weather for the 1,6 and 10 O’clock news, News 24, BBC World as well as Radio 1, 2 and 4. Isobel has also co-presented the Essential Guide to Weather, Painting the Weather and The Weather Show.
Isobel graduated with a degree in Maths from Exeter University before joining the Met Office in 1991, where her duties included preparing forecasts for the press, and presenting the weather on local radio.
In the course of her varied career Isobel has climbed a 120 metre wind turbine and taken part in the Children in Need appeal programme, singing and dancing to Its Raining Men, by the Weather Girls.
Born in Lincolnshire, Isobel grew up in Sussex and Hertfordshire, and now lives in South-West London with her husband and two small children. Outside of work her hobbies include walking, particularly in the Lake District and Glen Coe, although she has gone further a field to Chamonix, where she learnt to ice climb and reached the summit of Mont Blanc. She also enjoys jogging and has taken part in the Great North Run several times.
